A day at the golf 2011
So, the “Great British Summer” TM has just about come to an end, and we’re all waiting for an Indian one to begin! Chance would be a fine thing.
Nevertheless, the last few months have been a busy time for Top Selection – visiting clients and wineries, hosting events, bringing in great new products, and of course selling wine!
On the 16th July Akos led a small group of merry men to Royal St George’s golf course, Sandwich, for the 3rd round of the Open Golf Championship. The weather on this day was generally agreed to have been the worst in British Open history, the rain lashed down and gale force winds blew horizontally. However, spirits were not dampened, our brave team found their hospitality tent, and Top Selection supplied a few bottles (of various sizes) to keep everyone occupied.
This was the line-up of fantastic wines:
1 x Francois Diligent “Cuvee Anastasia” NV Magnum
1 x Andre Jacquart Le Mesnil 2004 Magnum
4 x Brice Bouzy Grand Cru NV 75cl
1 x Anton Bauer Grande Reserve Gruner Veltliner 2006 Double Magnum
1 x Chateau Faurie de Souchard Grand Cru Classe St Emilion 1982 6Ltr(!)
2 x Egon Muller Scharzhofberger Kabinett 2008 75cl
4 x Szepsy Tokaj Aszu 6 Puttonyos 2005 50cl
Everyone made it home safely (though all the bottles were finished), and I believe someone called Clarke did quite well at the golf.
