Harwood Hall – Pinot Noir
History
Established in 2008, Harwood Hall is the result of a collaboration between two friends and former colleagues: Digger Hennessey and Corey Hall. Digger and Corey first met in 1996 and later went on to be chief winemakers at Mt Riley and Matua respectively. Pooling their resources, including Digger’s vineyard and Corey’s ‘Gem’ wine business, their aim was -and remains- to produce top quality New Zealand wines that are also affordable and approachable.
Tasting Notes
Dark cherries and blackberries with a layer of raspberry and strawberry around the edges of the palate. The fruit is well supported with a little toast, spice and dried herb in the background. The soft full palate shows good structure and length with dark berries on the finish. This wine should age gracefully for a minimum of five years.
