Mountfield Winery Secures Outstanding 96-Point Score in Decanter

Mountfield Winery has achieved a landmark success in Decanter magazine’s latest UK sparkling wine tasting. Its Blanc de Blancs Brut was awarded a spectacular 96-point “Outstanding” rating, placing it at the very top tier of homegrown sparkling wine.

Crafted from 95% of the 2016 vintage and a splash of oak-aged 2015 reserve wine, this exceptional cuvée spent an extraordinary ten years maturing on its lees before release.

The Judges’ Verdict:

  • “Stopped me in my tracks” – Lead judge Susie Barrie MW (who scored it 97) praised its highly characterful personality, expressive honeyed biscuit aromatics, and deep layers of flavour.

  • “Complex and structured” – Dror Nativ MW and Matt Hodgson highlighted the wine’s sophisticated notes of buttercream, roasted hazelnut, and tangy green apple.
