Sonoma-Cutrer blends Californian innovation with Burgundian tradition to express the unique character of Sonoma County’s foggy, coastal, and cool-climate terroir. Since its founding in 1973 and the release of its first wine in 1981, the winery has become one of the most renowned premium Chardonnay brands in the U.S. With six estate vineyards across 1,121 acres in the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast, Sonoma-Cutrer remains dedicated to crafting wines that reflect a strong sense of place, led by a consistent focus on quality and craftsmanship.

Under the leadership of Director of Winemaking Cara Morrison, Sonoma-Cutrer is deeply committed to sustainable practices. All estate vineyards are certified by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance, and the winery employs water conservation, recycled irrigation, natural pest control, and biodiversity-focused vineyard management. Recycling, composting, and renewable farming initiatives further underscore their environmental ethos. The portfolio includes six wholesale wines—four acclaimed Chardonnays (Sonoma Coast, The Cutrer, Les Pierres, and Russian River Ranches), along with a Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and Rosé of Pinot Noir.

Sonoma-Cutrer joined the Duckhorn Portfolio in 2024.
